Unidos Dual Language School was honored for their proficiency in cursive writing by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Recognizing that cursive writing strengthens student confidence, connects learners to history, and supports essential cognitive development, GaDOE is proud to honor schools that demonstrate excellence in cursive instruction through the John Hancock Award. This award celebrates schools that go above and beyond in teaching cursive writing. In addition to the Hancock Awards, Superintendent Woods honored a total of 13 schools with banners and ribbons celebrating their being named Literacy Leaders and Math Leaders by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for 2024-2025. Unidos was recognized as a literacy leader for 3rd Grade Gateway Growth and 4th Grade Growth. ![]()

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) recognizes schools for high academic performance and growth through the Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS). Unidos Dual Language School was recognized with a 2026 SSAS Greatest Gains Silver Award. For the 2026 SSAS awards, we used CCRPI data from the three most recent school years (2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25) to identify award recipients in two categories: Greatest Gains and Highest Performing. Each category includes four tiers- Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. ![]()

Unidos Elementary proudly celebrates a major milestone with the launch of its first-ever Robotics and Drone Team, a true point of pride for the school community. After months of dedicated practice, students demonstrated exceptional strength in coding, critical thinking, and collaboration as they competed in the first annual Robotics and Drones Competition. Their hard work and perseverance resulted in outstanding achievements, earning first and third place in Robotics and first place in Drones. This accomplishment reflects years of developing coding skills and problem-solving abilities, culminating in an opportunity for students to showcase their talents on a competitive stage. The team’s success exemplifies how innovation, teamwork, and rigorous thinking align seamlessly with Unidos’ vision for student learning and excellence. ![]()

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mundy’s Mill High School, 34 elementary schools, 15 middle schools, and 8 high schools competed in the district-level Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl. Unidos Dual Language School came in 2nd place and advanced to the Metro Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl held at Clayton State University on Saturday, February 28, 2026. ![]()

Unidos held its annual Data Dinner Night on February 10, 2026. This is an event designed to help students and families better understand student progress and academic growth in a supportive and informative setting. Families enjoyed a meal while learning how to read MAP Growth Family Reports, support reading and math at home, and understand GMAS basics and resources. Teachers guided parents and students through important assessment data such as MAP Growth, AMIRA, OG, and common assessments, helping students explain their goals, progress, and next steps. Families left with take-home resources to continue supporting learning at home. ![]()

Unidos competed in the CCPS Cheer Novice Large Group Competition on March 21, 2026.They received the superlative for “Best School Spirit!” Many other elementary schools competed as a culmination of a successful cheer season. Congrats to all elementary cheer teams! ![]()
